My baby girl, Kaia Amira, was born 1/24 in the most dramatic way. As I was going to bed I was having a couple small contractions I brushed off as Braxton Hicks my water broke and I made a leap for the room bathroom when I looked up it was all blood (Looked like a murder scene) Right away my boyfriend called my mom to come watch our 2 year old and then called 911 at 10:53 which got there in 10 minutes. They took my vitals it wasn’t until I got onto the gurney when the contractions really started to hit. They rushed me to the hospital (sirens and all) as my contractions were getting closer and closer together. By the time I got there and they checked me my contractions were 2 minutes apart and I was 6cm dialated. As they strolled me to the delivery room and checked me I was at an 8cm and felt the need to push. My boyfriend stayed to clean up the mess and get the hospital bags not thinking things would progress so fast. I had my daughter at 11:56pm and cut the cord myself. I planned to have an epidural and never believed I had what it took to have a natural birth but had 0 choice. I’m blessed that it all happened so fast and she came out beautiful and healthy. The reason for the blood was my placenta separated.
