Should I give her a heads up?
TW miscarriage
My co-director knows previously my husband and I have tried to have kids, but she doesn't know we've restarted treatment. I know this isn't a guarantee that we'll get pregnant this time, but I'm hopeful regardless. She knows we had an early miscarriage almost two years ago when we were still just coworkers.
She had an unplanned pregnancy last year that ended in a first trimester miscarriage. She wasn't particularly torn up about it because she is very happy with her one child and has openly said that she never wanted more than one anyway, she was back at work the day after she was discharged from the hospital even though I said she should just take a few days.
However, I don't doubt that regardless of what she said and how she acted, that it was still painful (emotionally) to go through. I was supportive as she needed a lot of time off before this, due to her being high risk from inception.
So I'm wondering if I should tell her my husband and I have started fertility treatment again, or should I just keep quiet and just act surprised when/ if it happens? We don't really owe each other any explanation as to what we do with our time so I can easily get to appointments without telling her, but at the same time our relationship is built on mutual trust and honesty.
