Did you experience mood swings or depression on the combo pill?

Question

I just had a baby in October, am done breastfeeding and definitely don’t want to get pregnant again too soon.
I want to start the combo pill but am terrified of having mood swings or depression as a side effect.
I have suffered from anxiety and mood swings in the past but with therapy I haven’t in a couple years and was blessed not to have any postpartum depression.
Is it possible to take the combo pill and not have the mood swing side effect?

I already had depression and anxiety when I started the pill, but it wasn’t severe until after. It got so bad I started experiencing suicidal thoughts and ideology, I had no sex drive (which greatly affected my relationship with my now husband), and I had chronic yeast infections that never went away until I stopped the pill.
I recommend that you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler and learn the Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) which can be used for both pregnancy prevention or achievement. That’s what I used along with condoms to prevent before we started TTC and it’s what I plan to use to prevent after the baby’s born.

I had almost the same experience with the combo pill (existing anxiety and depression turned worse, mood swings, suicidal thoughts, etc). After switching to the mini pill I went by to my usual level of 'manageable depression'.
