Tampon?

Hey sooo I've used tampons before & never felt any pain or felt discomfort or anything like that...(but yea i usually have pads) & Today I didn't have any pads at home so I took a tampon instead. But it felt weird, like when i put it up nothing felt weird/it didn't hurt or anything like that. But when it was inside it felt a bit weird. It didn't really hurt but It was just a weird feeling. Idk if it was because i haven't used one in a while or if i didn't push it up far enough (but i think i did) or if its because im a lil sre since im on my period?
