Did you cut your baby’s hair before their 1 year?

I want to cut my 6 month olds hair because it’s all over her eyes but my bf won’t let me because in Hispanic culture if you cut their hair before they’re a year old it delays their speech and his parents told him not to cut her hair  🙄

I didn’t, but this your kid. His parents have no say. If HE feels strongly about not cutting it, then his opinion has value of course.
Does he think that cutting his child’s hair is going to give him a speech delay? I’d be a little more concerned about him believing that kind of crazy talk, lol.

A haircut has nothing to do with a speech delay...🤦🏻‍♀️ Superstitions are weird, I swear. We cut my son’s at 4 months because it was in his eyes and ears and sometimes he would get spit up all in it.

My daughter is 2 and hasn't had a haircut yet, I just put it up. I'm not superstitious though, I just like her long hair😊

If it constantly in her eyes it could hinder eye development - just from an optometrist perspective. 
But find a middle ground - use a hair clip it hair tie to get it out of the way.

I clipped my daughters hair to the side at that age.  I know it’s probably misery but I’d respect their culture on that even though it’s completely unfounded 😅 I desperately want to cut my son’s mullet but dad isn’t ready so I’m waiting until I have his agreement
