Who was right? Sorry super long!
Ok so me and my husband got in an argument because he was supposed to do play time then put our 3 month old down for nap while I went shopping real fast. I got back sooner than expected and they were just hanging out. Nothing wrong with that at all, but I said “oh I thought you were going to do some play time?” And he said “I was going to do that right before nap so that he gets tired” and I said “well you shouldn’t do play time right before nap because it just wakes them up more, the time right before nap should be relaxing like this” all that was fine, normal conversation I thought.
But then he gets all mad saying that I never told him that, and I was like well it’s pretty well known.
All during my pregnancy I read books and articles about parenting and babies, and I told my husband he should do some research too. He kept promising that he would in his own time. Well he never did, not during the nine months, and not since our son has been born. Yet he expects me to know everything and be in charge of telling him how to take care of the baby and be a parent.
I said “you had nine months to do the research that you kept saying you would do” he got mad and said “who has been working 40 hour weeks?!” And I said “you still had nine months to do what you said you would do.” He just said, “well you’re being really unfair right now” and then he left to take our dog on a walk without saying goodbye.
Of course it was easier for me to read about everything because I left work part way through my pregnancy and am a SAHM right now, (he works full time and was doing part time school during my pregnancy as well, definitely not easy!) but I think he definitely could have done it too over the months, and IMO he should have stepped up as a parent in that respect. He wants me to tell him every little thing about how to take care of our son and I don’t think that’s my job or fair to expect of me.
But maybe I’m wrong?
What do you guys think?
