Why is everyone getting induced ?

I see a lot of posts about getting induced. Just curious why everyone is getting induced rather than waiting for baby to come on own ?!?  I know my doctor offered an induction after 39 weeks, but I said no need to. I’d schedule after 40 weeks. Baby 2 here.

Im choosing an elective induction at 39 weeks because I can. This is my 4th baby and not once have I gone into labor on my own. I’m not willing to wait to 41+ weeks just to have the same outcome. I have had multiple OBGYNs and they all joke that I have a cervix of steel. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'll induce after 41, risks are higher and there's no benefit to baby staying in there. Hoping to go in labor naturally though.

Two of my three babies had shoulder dystocia (even being induced a week early) due to size. My doctors haven’t wanted me to go longer than necessary to try and avoid any heavier birth weight and injury to the baby. I’m having my fourth and will be my fourth induction, with a different doctor/midwife each time who have always had the same opinion of inducing at 39 weeks

My baby is estimated to be really big lol. 34+4 scan showed 7lb 11 oz at that point. I know it can be off a decent amount, but the same thing happened with baby #2 and it was accurate (born at 38 weeks, 8lb 10 oz). So we are inducing at 39 + 1 to try to get her out a few days early lol. I’m hoping she comes on her own before then.. I’ve been 4cm for over a week and am not scheduled to be induced until 2/15... so fingers crossed 🤞

My induction starts at 5am this morning . My baby is measuring 34-36 weeks and I’m 39 +2 days today . IUGR was caught late due to other findings on the ultrasound that they’ve kept such a close eye on . So it’s more of baby’s health and making sure if he doesn’t do well in utero that he can thrive better out !!

My Dr doesn't want me to go past 41 weeks. I would love to go into labor naturally this time. I'm only 38 weeks so hopefully.

I have low platelets that are dropping and a history of Hemorrhage.

1) Baby is estimated to be big already (which doesn't scare me a lot, but does cause some concern because I want to avoid a possible c-section.
2) I have been in increasing pain for weeks now, and it won't get any better until I have him.
3) My last two had to be induced because my body would not go into labor naturally (so this is preemptive).
4) If I want to have my husband with me during labor and delivery, I have a better chance of guaranteeing it if I have a planned delivery day, because the only person who can watch my kids is my sister, who lives an hour away, and seeing that my last labor lasted less than four hours, I would prefer a sure thing if I can (of course, I could always get lucky and go into labor first).

I am a gestational diabetics requiring insulin. Best available evidence says best outcomes happen when induction is scheduled for the 39th week.

I was recommended induction at 39 weeks due to my age (41) and the increased risk factors. I am hoping that she decides to come early on her own. My due date is 2/27.
