Am I weird for thinking its weird?

I find it weird how people who are married stop getting STD's or STI testing yearly. I dont understand why you would stop getting that just because your married. Am I weird for thinking that way?

Why would they get tested if they are sleeping only with each other?

I’ve been with my husband for 10 years... getting checked for STDs & STIs just isn’t necessary for us anymore. We aren’t sexual with any one else.
All though I’ve been tested recently because I’m pregnant again. Every thing came back negative... just another reason why it’s not necessary for us to get tested.

If you are married in a monogamous relationship then you are only exposed to each other. If you've already been cleared as healthy then why would you need to be tested over and over again?

Assuming they are LOYAL they really shouldn’t need testing. I’m aware some stds can lay dormant for some years but I personally wouldn’t bother until something popped up.

Sooooo you should continuously get checked because you suspect your partner is cheating?
I mean I get tested when I’m pregnant and never came out positive for anything and I keep my records from each pregnancy that’s shows I was tested every 3 months.
My husband works everyday and I’m usually on the phone with him throughout the day and he pops in the house for lunch or bathroom break so I see him every few hours. Do I have a reason to assume he’s cheating ? Nope has he been tested since we’ve been together at 15 nope. 
Some couples don’t have issues and get checked when necessary and some don’t at all. That’s their business and it’s not weird it’s whatever works for that couple.

Well I mean...neither of you will ever get another STD if you're only sleeping with each other...but that being said, i still get mine yearly. Not because i think hes being loyal, but ita just covered in my yearly exam by my insurance, so why not?

We only get tested when the doctors office is just doing it as routine. We haven’t had partners besides ourselves in years... so why would we? You don’t just develop it out of thin air.

I’ve been in a 3.5 year relationship. Prior to this relationship I was in a 7 year relationship. With both relationships I got tested every 6 months. All tests were negative obviously. The way I see it is I’m covering all bases. I trust my partner but no one is perfect. We all have faults. If I were to be cheated on and they caught something, I’d rather find out early than later on when it’s already wreaked havoc on my body. My current partner minds but understands. If anything, he gets his peace of mind also because he knows my tests show I’m not stepping out.
