Pillow?

Question

Okay, so is it safe if my son is using a blanket in his crib FOR a pillow? I’ve heard pillows are a no until they are in a toddler bed so I’m worried.

My son has had a pillow for a month and lots of blankets and stuffed animals, he's a very good sleeper and does well with them.  I think it depends on your child.  My son is huge, he wears 4T and 5T, so I feel like that helps him in the bed too

My daughter has a very thin and small pillow, she's had it for awhile. It's about 12inx12in, I made it. A little bit of stuffing and some soft fabric. She sometimes sleeps on it all night and other nights she pushes it out of the way. She also sleeps on her belly. She will sometimes push her blanket up under her head too. I trust her to move her blanket and pillow if she needs to.

I think we’ll give one soon around age 2.
We did the same with my daughter. They’re in no danger from it at this stage.

Our son went to a fully dressed full sized bed on the floor in his room with about 6 pillows at 12 months. 
He was a crazy sleeper and has done just fine with them.

My son has had a pillow since she was about 8 months and a blanket from day one. At almost two years old they’re capable of using a pillow and moving it away if need be

I recently gave my son a little pillow and he loves it and usually cuddles up with it!

When my daughter was still in her crib at 20 months I only did a stuffed animal and blanket. Once she switched to toddler bed at 21 months I let her have a flat toddler sized pillow, comforter, and stuffed animal. She doesn’t really use the pillow and she tosses things out of her bed that she doesn’t want so I don’t worry about her with those items
