Going through ectopic

Marissa

We were so excited when I tested positive. We had taken a break from trying after having a few chemical pregnancies so this was our unexpected miracle. Took maybe 12 pregnancy tests all of them super dark lines and positives across the board. Go in for my first check and find I’m super early like maybe 3 weeks but everything looks good, had some spotting after I would poop after being constipated, dr checked said it was normal my hcg was going up and even though my progesterone was low it could easily be fixed with a progesterone pill. This weekend something felt off and I had dark red blood and some clots come out I thought for sure I was miscarrying, then the sharp pain started, worse than anything I’ve ever had in a period and it was only on my right side. My husband convinced me to go straight to the ER. After multiple tests and very painful ultrasounds we find out not only do I have some cysts on my ovaries but that I’m most likely having an ectopic but since it’s so early they can’t do much yet. Followed up with my doc and now we are watching my hcg levels drop so I can take something to dissolve the pregnancy, at least I most likely won’t need to remove a Fallopian tube. The devastation is so hard to describe, we weren’t expecting this baby and then to have it taken away just when we found out. I want everyone to know please don’t ignore any bleeding or any cramping when you are pregnant. Luckily I did find out I was pregnant when I did, I hadn’t even missed a period, I would have assumed the blood and pain just a bad period and I could have been really hurt and possibly needed surgery.
