Insurance Doesn’t Cover Infertility Testing
Hi! My husband and I have been ttc for a little bit over a year with no luck. We decided to contact a fertility center near us and found out that our insurance doesn’t cover anything related to infertility (not even the tests to find out if there are any issues). I’m really upset because it’s a lot to pay out of pocket - and that’s just for tests, not even for whatever treatment comes next if there are issues. The doctor is recommending all of the following: uterine evaluation, tubal evaluation, endometrial biopsy, hormone panel and semen analysis. Does anyone have any recommendations to make this more affordable? Wondering if we can maybe go one test at a time? I just don’t want to pay $3,000 out of pocket to find out I’m low on progesterone and that’s the only issue. Any tips/recommendations anyone has are greatly appreciated!!
