18 month sleep regression
Please help! My sweet daughter just turned 17 months and is currently having a really difficult time sleeping.
She has been transitioned to one nap since 15 months. Previously, her schedule was wake up 6:30ish, nap 12-1:30/2, bedtime 7/7:30. During her transition to one nap she started waking up at around 11pm, but would go back to sleep.
The past 1.5-2 weeks have been absolute hell. Her schedule right now is wake up 7, nap 12:30-2/2:30, bedtime 7/7:30. If she doesn’t fight going to sleep at bedtime, she’s up within an hour of going to sleep. Sometimes she’ll sleep from 7/7:30pm-9/10pm, then wakes up crying and will not put herself back to sleep. She has been sleep trained since 10 months and puts herself to sleep at bedtime.
If I sit in the room with her so she can see me, she normally will go to sleep with no issues.
I tried that last night and tonight and she ended up waking up within 30 minutes of going back to sleep.
When she wakes up she literally REFUSES to go back to sleep. She just cries and cries. The only way I get sleep is if I put her in bed with me.
She has always slept in her bed and I do not want to create a habit of her sleeping in bed with me. I am just so exhausted and she won’t sleep unless it’s with me. Is my timing off? What do I do??
