Epidural?

Question

I’m 22 years old And I’m still terrified of needles but I’m also terrified of feeling everything during labor specially if I have to get stitches. 
Is it painful when getting an epidural?
Was it worth it? 
Would you do it again?

It was definitely scary since it was my first time as a mother. But after I got it  I felt so high and I couldn’t feel any pain. I had a c section by choice and it went so smooth. It probably took 10 minutes for them to operate on me. It was quick and easy. 
The needle was definitely big but it’s worth it.

The epidural just felt like pressure for me and no pain. It was definitely worth it I had contractions, hip and back pain as well so it helped me with alll of that! I was numb from waist down and don’t regret it at all. I was in a lot of pain from the beginning because they tried to dilate me using the balloon method which hurt and didn’t even work out for me so I would recommend the epidural! I didn’t want it at first but everything they did to me had me in lots of pain so I needed it. I ended up doing an unplanned c section so I needed it anyways.

I felt absolutely nothing when I got the epidural. I did however ask the anesthesiologist if he would marry me after 😂😂

i was stuck at 5 cm for about 4 hours until i finally gave in to the epidural and i made it out so much worse in my head than it actually was honestly. after it was in i fell asleep and woke up at 9 cm and almost ready to push. it made the exams and hiprolls so much bareable, and pushing was also bareable, probably the best way to go, i had an amazing birth experience. only thing that sucks is that your back hurts a little bit afterwards. and also you dont even feel the catheter go in or come out of you.

I was more afraid of the epidural than giving birth. Ended up getting it and it was not even close to what I expected or what others made it out to be. The pain isn't bad whatsoever, more so than anything u feel pressure in your spine of the fluid going in but the entire process is so quick it was over before I knew it. The pressure is slightly uncomfortable but the med kicks in so fast that after a couple seconds you feel nothing. If you don't need need it then don't get it, because with everything there's always a risk, but if you feel like you need it then go ahead, and don't worry, from my experience i was genuinely frightened over nothing. Just hug your pillow and you'll be fine 😁
