Is it safe to dye your hair in the second trimester?

Does anyone know if it’s safe to dye your hair in the second trimester? I know it’s recommended to wait until after the first trimester but I still feel a little off about it and couldn’t find much information.

It’s safe! As long as the salon is well ventilated as it’s more about the fumes. I personally have been getting my hair done still, even in the first trimester. There is the potential for your hair to take to dye differently because of the hormones I guess? I haven’t experienced it personally, just something I heard.

Yep. If you’re going to a good hairdresser they should be able to advise you on what to use. Don’t use box dyes whatever you do. They’re bad for your hair! Pregnancy hair is so good. But you want to try and keep it as healthy as possible because after bubs is born it’s very common to go through huge hair loss.

My doctor said it is safe to do it and I did in the first trimester too. Did the same thing during my first pregnancy too

I have had my hair dyed in both my first and second trimester.  If you are concerned, ask your stylist about l semi permanent color rather than permanent.

I am doing it every 2nd month, now I am 14 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I also get a gel manicure once a month for the last 7 years. There isn t any actual proof that hair dye may hurt the unborn baby, and now that we get to wear a mask everywhere, it's even less probable for the fetus to get hurt 😇 my doc says it's important for us to feel beautiful and to keep our self care routine throughout the pregnancy, we are not sick, we're just expecting 😁🤗

I have asked my doctor about it , she said there nothing in the books that shows its a risk but she recommend to wait until im 20 weeks
