Week 10 - considered late for first appointment?

I’m at week 7 today, and my OB didn’t have an appointment with me until February 25, at close to week 10. I haven’t had any appointment yet since I tested positive at home. Should I ask for an earlier appointment?

If you’re not considered high risk it’s normal not to have a first appointment until closer to the end of the first trimester.

Can’t hurt to ask. Really depends on the practice now during covid. I work for a public health prenatal provider (in the US- clinic for un or underinsured patients) and seeing patients 8-10 weeks was normal but the COVID policy is 10-12 weeks. We weren’t happy about it but apparently 10 weeks is common during covid.

Very normal for a 1st appt. I had my 1st appt with this one at 15 weeks exactly.

Both my first appointments were at 10 weeks and I loved it ! They did all my blood work and blood to find out the gender instead of going again 😊 As long as you’re not high risk it’s fine
