Spironalactone irregular periods?
So I was on Spironalactone for years and it was great. It was like a miracle for the unwanted hair growth, and my acne. My face was so bad my whole life it would hurt so bad from the acne. Spironalactone gave me perfect skin. But when I started taking classes it became problematic, because it's a diuretic I had to pee constantly. I couldn't keep interrupting class, and missing information. So I went off of it, at I was doing fine so I stayed off for a few years. Last year my PCOS started to flare up so my endocrinologist put me back on it. I've always been lucky that my periods have been regular. They suddenly became wildly irregular. Every 10 days. Then 14 then 3 months without, then it settled on every 18 days, but obviously I wasn't ovulating. I started feeling not quite right after starting the Spironalactone again. I had to pee constantly, 8 times a night 20 times a day, and I had a weird pressure. I thought for sure my bladder or uterus dropped. It turned out to be my kidneys. They were functioning very poorly, borderline failing, and I had tubular acidosis. My blood pressure became dangerously low. My nephrologist told me to stop taking it. I've been off of it about a month. A couple weeks ago I ovulated, and yesterday I got my period 32 days after my last. It's like my cycle is starting to go back to normal. Has anyone else had a similar experience with Spironalactone? I'm wondering if it is what screwed up my cycle this whole time.
