Is “funner” a word?

My husband always says the word funner and I correct him and say it’s not a word and the correct term is “more fun”. He argues that it is a a real word.

It's not currently considered the official grammatically proper comparative of fun, but words are all made up and language changes.  
Also, yes I would cringe upon hearing it used.

What even, how is this related to this group... Also it is,  yes. If you want to consider “fun,” as an adjective, a word, then “funner” is indeed a word, as is “funnest,” per normal rules of adjective formation.
