Do you believe cancel culture should stop? I personally think that we should stop just “cancelling” people & allow them to own up to their mistakes & show changes in their behavior. Accountability for a change.

Of course there’s exceptions! I just think it’s insane how many people are like “oh you made a mistake? Or you did something 20 years ago? Cancelled.”

I’m not sure if it was Jimmy Kimmel or Fallon (I don’t want either), but videos of him resurfaced last year over a skit he did & people wanted him cancelled.

Yesterday I saw a commented post that we cannot view the past with present eyes. (If you are that commenter please let me know! I can’t find it) Things change and what is appropriate or inappropriate changes.

Another example is White Chicks. Is a very dumb movie but I think it’s funny. But people now want the Wayan brothers held accountable. The movie back then was either seen as dumb or funny, but very little saw it as bad as it would be if it was made in today’s time.

Anyways, we are human beings and we may have said or done things we regret years ago. Don’t act perfect. I’ve done it. I think our perspective as society just has to change and allow us to change and make up for those mistakes.
