Which translation of the Bible do you follow?

I’m not Christian, but I’m wanting to read the Bible. I’m looking at the NIV and the NKJV. I’m wondering what you all recommend. Also, is a “woman’s study Bible” of one of those translations going to be adequate?

All of them. Don’t limit yourself to one translation...no Christian does that. I attend a Christian university and one of the biggest things we are taught is to study ALL translations.

 and your going to want to read it in the INT (intelinear)  because you want to read it as close to the original greek and hebrew text as possible so you can get a clear understanding with what the txt says and means because some translations words are not the same meaning as the original text which can alter the meaning . On biblehub you can click a word or the number above it and it will show the meaning of it and also the different types of context and things which really help me understand when before when i was younger  i would get discouraged because reading the bible can be confusing .
 alot of translations white wash alot sometimes even take out or add in . If you want me to screen record to show you how i dont mind. 
Also just a little advice when it comes to the Bible you want to read it for yourself first . I know that for me i grew up in the church but i never read it according to what the text says or did my own research aside from the pastors or preachers picking out versus to fit their narrative. But as i became older I realized alot in it isn’t really whats they say it says .  Im not going to get much deeper into it... i just like to encourage people to read things  and fine print for themselves .

NIV is definitely a good version for someone wanting to read the Bible and not necessarily get into all the nuances or language and study. I personally hate NKJV, but it can be good too. I also have New Living Translation, I feel like it’s too watered down
