How many words is your little one saying?

I’m curious to see how many words everyone’s little one is saying?
I believe my son is not talking as much as he should and I’m so worried.
We are meeting with a speech specialist next week but it’s driving me crazy.

Like 50+. But we know that is more than typical at this age. Don't forget that animal sounds and word approximations count as words as well!

My son is only saying dada and he has said momma before but he doesn’t say it all the time. He communicates with me but not with words, more like sounds or actions so I think he understands but he’s having trouble talking. My pediatrician said if hes not saying more by 18 months we can see a specialist but I’m hoping he will say more by then.

FYI, boys are slower with speech than girls. My son is 18 months (16.5 adjused age) and he says 'mama', 'dada' 'that' and 'cat'. And a few animal sounds. Otherwithe barely talks (but bables a ton) I'm curious when talking will finally come, but as a boy and a preemie I think he's doing okay.

I’m not even sure at this point - maybe 30 or more? My daughter talks non stop and she picks up on words really quickly

My daughter says a lot of words. We know she says more than what is “typical” at this age. At her 15 month appt, the pediatrician just wanted to know that she said mama, dada, and like one other word. We use a lot of tips from the Speech Sisters on IG. Every kid develops differently and seeing a speech therapist is great! I’m sure you will notice a difference in no time!

My daughter 'talks' constantly. Her intonation and expressions are perfect, like she's really trying to get a point across! But mostly not words that we recognise 🤷‍♀️
She can say Mama, Dada, No, Da(for yes) Baba(for herself) Up, Roar(for lions) Hiya, Hello, Bye-bye.
However she mostly just shouts 😂

My son says head, hello, and sit and then just babbles a lot. Idk why those are the words he has decided to say but I know he understands others. I think as long as you see progress it is fine. He went from saying nothing to saying all three words in a couple of weeks.

He can say a lot but only uses about 5 daily .
