Smelly umbilical cord?

My daughter is a week and two days old. 
Today her umbilical cord has an unpleasant smell. Also, she was wearing a white onesie, and the belly button had gotten brown specks on the onesie. It looks like maybe some small amount of dried blood. I don’t see any obvious signs of infection. Could this be normal?

My daughters did the same thing, but I didn’t clean it or anything I was gonna call and ask her doctor but it ended up falling off the same day so I assume it’s normal!

Once my sons cord fell off he still had some scabbing that would rub on his onesies and leave a lot dried blood/scabbies on it. We just kept it clean and dry and in a few days it healed perfectly.

My sons umbilical stump had a weird smell to it as well, I cleaned it up with hydrogen peroxide and then alcohol to dry it out afterwards. Smell went away and umbilical stump fell off a week later.

The smell yes. It’s normal from how long it was attached. Clean it during bad time once it heals fully it’ll go away if kept clean. Just make sure you looks for signs of infection
