How do you make chocolate gravy?

Yes, you read that right. Its a real thing, and people eat it over biscuits for breakfast! A southern dish.

I personally find it disgusting and grew up in Michigan. My husband is a southerner and LOVES it. Its an acquired taste, I think.  
BUT for Valentines Day I figured Id make it for my husband. ❤️❤️❤️Id rather not ask my MIL because we dont get along well(I suspect because Im not a traditional southern woman, seriously) 
Anyways, I saw a TikTok someone used coffee in it..? My husbands mom makes it with heaps of butter on the biscuits too. Idk whats good?

I grew up in Canada and never heard of chocolate gravy until I met my husband, who is American. While he grew up in the Pacific Northwest and his kids were raised on Long Island and in the Seattle area, his dad is from Arkansas originally and they all LOVE chocolate gravy. I'm not a fan. Lol

My MiL makes it all the time (were in Michigan). She was raised in KY and it’s definitely a southern thing. As to how it’s made, I have no idea, but everyone who eats it loves it. I don’t like chocolate in general, so I don’t eat it, but my son loves it.
