Late period

I have a period every month without fail but this month i am 7 days late I have a implant but i was meant to of gotten it taken out a year ago as that’s when it had run out i had heard stories that it was still meant to work for longer then the 5 years it originally said I took a pregnancy test yesterday but it was negative I’m a bit confused and worrying
