Would you expect to be paid back?
This happened to me, I am not the parent in this story, but the child that asked for the snow cone.
Your child is in 6th grade and they go on a field trip to a pro baseball game. You got to along with your child on this trip. Your child has a friend that their parent couldn’t afford to send them with any money for snacks or anything and all they will get for the entire day is the small bagged lunch that the school will give them. It’s a very hot day and you’re all out in the sun and you decide to buy your child a snow-cone. Their friend sitting next to them and you kindly asks if you’d please buy them one as well or a drink as they are very hot and thirsty. Several of the other kids in class have been buying themselves snacks, snow cones, and drinks. You tell the child you will and you do. Several days later your child and you tell the other child you want them to pay you back. It’s like $5-$10. Would you expect the child or their parents to pay you back?
