Is this a cold sore?

My 17 month old went to bed with what looked like a little red irritation. When we woke up this morning it looked like this! I’m terrified that it could be a cold sore because I have a 6 week old at home also!

It’s a pimple. Don’t touch it u can leave him a scar .

It doesn’t look like a cold sore. It looks like a pimple or ingrown hair. He’s got a scratch on his lip, did he scratch himself and it’s the scab healing?

A cold sore looks like a blister, this looks like a pimple to me.

It looks more like a pimple to me but it’s hard to say from a picture. I would be very cautious with him around the baby just in case it is a cold sore. Has he been in contact with anyone who has had one? It could also be the start of hand foot mouth?
