I've been using the nuvaring for about 18 months now and it's been great! With every other hormonal birth control I was using I was getting EVERY negative side effect, especially migraines. So using the ring was awesome, after a somewhat grueling 4 month adjustment to it which largely included crazy periods and lots of spotting. I always always always take my ring out after 3 weeks, have it out for 1 and replace it. I've always been really good about this and it's been working for me. Only last month I got a period 1 and a half weeks in to having a new ring in, and not just spotting but a full on period. So, keen to try to stop my period, I went to change the ring after 3 weeks, and right away insert another ring (supposedly a very safe method for skipping your period). Only I miscalculated and took out my ring after 2 weeks and replaced it with another ring immediately. I didn't realise at first and initially my period stopped, but a few days later I got my period again, at which point I realised my mistake. I couldn't find anything online or in the nuvaring info about what to do here! If I'd realised sooner, I would have just taken the ring out and left it for a week and started again, but seeing as I'd already had it in for a few days I just decided to leave it. Only now I've had my period for 8 days and it doesn't seem to be lessening at all. I'm fairly certain I'm protected from pregnancy but the period stuff is starting to drive me insane.

Can anyone offer any advice???
