Why won’t he talk to me about sex?

OK so we’ve been together for three years and he says it’s still awkward to talk about sex and I want to know what truly makes him happy in bed.  me personally I feel it’s awkward to talk about it but I still try to talk about it because that’s the intimate part of our relationship. Can someone give me advice on this?

He was horny last night but I didn’t wanna do anything at 2 AM because I’m also on my period.

So I asked him if he wanted me to do anything about that when I got home, like, I don’t know, blow job. He said that he didn’t care. This is confusing because shouldn’t he care...?

In a normal typical relationship doesn’t a couple flirt with each other even when not home?
