Should I watch a labor and delivery video as an expecting FTM?

I LOVE watching them even when I’m not pregnant 😅 if you have Facebook or instagram the account @badassmotherbirther posts amazing birthing videos along with super information captions!!! I have learned so much from her!!!

I didn’t watch any, if you are just curious about what it looks like to see a baby come out and it’s not going to give you extra anxiety than go for it lol, but during your own birth you don’t see any of that anyway bc you’re on the other side of it so I really don’t think it’s necessary to watch in order to be prepared. If anything I would read birth stories or ask people you know about their birth stories. It’s good to get different perspectives because everyone’s birth is so completely different. That’ll give you the widest range of info on labor, delivery, possible complications, and all knowing there was positive outcomes. ♥️

Im a FTM too and I’ve been watching birthing class videos where they show what can happen with props and that’s been helpful. It would stress me out to watch someone actually in labor because then I’ll expect mine to be that way

I think you can still educate yourself by reading about it instead of watching it. If you are already nervous or anxious I don’t think having the visual will help you. I found that reading every single birth story on the app was helpful in getting a full picture of how different birth is for everyone and all the different ways it can go. That way you can get an idea of what is normal and what isn’t based on others experiences. 
I will say that I love watching home birth videos. Those women are just another breed of human and make it look so easy and painless lol so if you must watch- I suggest watching those

That’s was soo me 4 years ago with my 1st pregnancy. Now It’s baby #2. I’m 37 weeks tomorrow but I’m prepared for my daughter
