What is a good age gap between babies/kids?

Whenever is good for you. Having them close together doesn’t mean they’ll be close, having them farther apart doesn’t mean they’ll be distant. There’s no guaranteed with any age, so it’s whoever you feel you’ll be able to handle two or more kids.

I personally believe two is the magic number as the older child is old enough to understand and help you but young enough to grow up super close to the younger one. Having a second child when my first had just turned one would of been a lot a lot more work, and having them 3+ years in my opinion would make it easier for them to grow up more distant. Just my personal take

My sister and I are 19 months apart (mom wanted 2 full years but got pregnant again faster than expected). She is literally my best friend in the world. We didn’t get along all the time as kids but we got along pretty well compared to my siblings of other age gaps. Us being so close in age meant we could have mutual friends. We even went to college together and she’s actually how I met my husband! I would totally try to copy that age gap with my kids if I could afford daycare for more than two at a time.

my brother and i are 6 years apart so we were never very close. always went to different schools, different interests, different stages of life. i just had my first baby 8 weeks ago and id like to try for another when he’s about one and a half :)

In a perfect world, I would say 2 years. But you never know what life has planned for you. My mom wanted all her kids 2 years apart, it only worked for the older two (my brother and I). After that, it took her 7 years to have a lasting pregnancy, then another 8 years after that. 
I will say, growing up (til middle school), I was only close to my brother and had more of a motherly relationship with my younger sisters, now I’m very close with both my sisters and not so much with my brother. 
I would love to have my kids closer in age, but then all milestones are close too. Expenses can pile up easily. My plan for now is to go with the flow of life since it took so long to conceive my first, but we’ll see how it works out!

I have three sisters. One 8 years older, 2 years younger, and 4 years younger. I’m closest to the 2 year younger one but still get along with the 4 year younger one. Now that I’m an adult I get along with the 8year older one most of the time, but it took a while to get there. I think closer is better personally (after you fully heal from the previous baby of course) so I think 2 years is good for me. Everyone is different though.

My sister an I where two and I always felt that was good. .my son and daughter are also a bit over 2 years apart. Ans it's been great. 
I don't feel so bad taking care of baby because he's older and can better entertain himself. He also understands better why I need to do things.

Mine are exactly three years apart (2 day difference) and I couldn’t imagine them closer in age. It’s a lot of work!

There's no right answer to this. There's no way to predict the dynamics when you add another child to your family. Do what feels right.
