PIO tips?

I’m doing my last lining check tomorrow and then I’ll be starting my progesterone on Thursday (no transfer this cycle, just my ERA next week). I’ve only done fresh transfers so I haven’t had to do the PIO shots. I’ve heard they can be painful afterwards...any tips would be greatly appreciated! TY!

Just wanted to let you lovely ladies know that all of your tips helped and I don’t even feel it today! I heated the PIO syringe under my arm for 20ish mins, iced the spot for 5ish, drew a little mark on my butt for my husband to follow, did some lunges after, rolled it out in a foam roller ball and then heated it! Seems like the right combo! Thank you!

Here’s some things I do:
15 minutes before injection time, I put the vial in my bra to thin out the oil. The oil is thick so this helps thin the oil out so it injects easier. Also 15 mins before, I get an ice pack and place it over the spot where the injection will be. This helps numb the spot. 
After the injection, I usually rub on it to help disperse the oil. You can also use a little massager as well. Try to stay walking/moving (although I don’t do this part anymore). Usually the massaging for a little bit does the trick for me. 
Make sure you rotate sides of the injection and also injection sites. I always put a bandaid on and keep it there until the next day so I don’t forget which side I did the injection on. I’ve also noticed it’s best to switch up the injection site go above, below, either side - as the longer your on PIO, the more sensitive that area gets. I don’t know about others, but for me I can see the bruising. I’m about 4 weeks into PIO shots. When they started getting painful (nothing in the process had changed), we decided to try to move the site around and that made a huge difference!

I’ve only done one so far, but it was only about 5% as bad as I had built it up to be in my mind. We warmed the syringe, and after injection, husband massaged then I walked/did squats for a few minutes. Then I sat on a heating pad, and later on my husband massaged more. It’s barely sore this morning. We’ll be switching sides each evening. Good luck!

Hi! The PIO shots havent been that bad for me. There were a few times that i think i hit the muscle the wrong way and it was very painful but for the most prt they have been easy. My process is:
I get the injection ready and put it within a heat pad in the lowest setting for about 3 min, then me or my husband injects the medication and after we massage the area for about 2 minutes, then I walk around for like a minute or 2 and then i sit against the heat pad for about 30 min. 
This has worked great for me and I dont have any lumps or real discomfort

The best advice that I got was to make sure you don’t do them too low. I have only been on them for four days but I will say I only feel a little sore when sitting in certain positions and it just feels like a little bruise..
I took everyone’s advice on here and draw the needle up and warm it under my arm for 10 minutes prior. My hubby rubs it out pretty hard for a few minutes afterwards and then I sit on a massaging heating pad for 30 min after. We switch sides every shot also. 
I found a YouTube video that was recommended in a Facebook group where a nurse gives advice on where to inject ( I was freaking out about getting the wrong spot). She said to imagine a line across the top of your butt crack and never go below it. Then to draw and imaginary line on each butt cheek and stay on the outside half. Lol. And dart it in, don’t go slow. 
I was terrified to start PIO but it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting.. although I hear it may get worse the longer I do it. 🙃
