Wondering if anyone had any advice or similar experience?

I had unprotected sex with my partner (usually I’m on the pill but I’m not at the moment, I’m going back on the pill now to avoid this situation arising again!) two days ago, and I ordered the morning after pill. The day after, (yesterday) I came on my period, and today the pill arrived.

I’m wondering if it’s necessary to actually take the Morning After Pill now I’ve come on my period - as surely this means I can’t be pregnant anyway, and the hormones could mess up my period/cycle, which I’d want to avoid if it’s not necessary to take the pill.
