So here’s the deal and sorry for the rambling... I have taken/used/been on a lot of different birth control methods before with the Ocella(pill) being my favorite. I was first on depo when I was 16-23 no bleeding or weight gain but got off it for fear of not being able to get pregnant. Then switched to the pill and took it year round with no breaks/no periods per my Obgyn and I would have spotting here and there but fast forward to age 28 and I magically got pregnant on the pill. So I stopped the pill obviously and after I had my daughter I had seizures and they tried to minimize the amount of estrogen from birth control so they did the arm implant aka: Nexplanon and I bled for 2 months straight before I told my Obgyn to take it out and give me back my pills and I would risk the seizures with the estrogen. Everything was fine until I got 3 blood clots from a chest port in my SVC leading into my heart that were over 50% blocking it causing my upper body and face to swell and land me in the ICU. They took all my hormones away and put me on blood thinners for life- and for those wondering nope I don’t have Factor V. But anyways I didn’t have a period when they took away my pills so I was taking progesterone every 90 days to force a period to be safe but then I started bleeding irregular and heavily and the clots were the size of ping pong balls/golf balls. So my Obgyn said the only option RIGHT NOW due to COVID-19 is to put in an IUD and we went with the lower hormonal one hoping it would slow the bleeding or all together stop it. But I’m on day 68 of solid bleeding and I’ve already had 2 infections. We can’t put the Mirena in because it has to much Estrogen for my body against the blood thinners. But has anyone ever bled this long without stopping on the Kyleena IUD and if so did you eventually stop or did you have to have it taken out? Thanks in advance!
