Is anyone forward facing their June baby yet?

Elyse is still rear facing & will be for a while but I’m just curious.. not here to start any arguments or anything, & I’m personally going to follow the safety recommendations but I’m just generally curious. My mom thinks I’m weird for not switching her yet, she turned my little sisters car seat forward facing when she was a year old. (She’s 3 now so this was not that long ago)

We just switched ours to forward facing with the approval of our pediatrician. Our June baby has consistently been in the 99th percentile for height and weight and he would bawl every time we put him in his car seat because he was so crunched. His pediatrician said with his height and weight he would probably get more injured rear facing than he would forward facing. He actually enjoys car rides now and it’s been so much easier.

I forward face mine because as she got older when she rear faced she would get sick every time and I’m not sure why. Since we switched her to forward facing she has no problems. We did go by the regulation and she is doing great.

Our state law min is one year and over 20lbs. We had already decided that we were going to turn him after his second birthday. He didn't weigh 20lbs at one anyway lol. We'll turn him on his 2nd birthday.

We have rear faced all our kids until they were four.  My father in law works works in the ER and always pushed for this.  We have tall kids but  we had cars that accommodate this and had them sit cross cross applesauce so it was easy to make it work.  I totally understand it’s not possible for everyone.

I will face ruby forward this summer, our cars are older and have terrible AC, so they don’t get very cool facing back. Maybe not the best reasoning but we don’t travel much, even before the pandemic, and live in a rural area so I feel ok doing this.

I’ll rear face until at least two. I haven’t thought about it beyond that though 🤷🏼‍♀️ with Covid and me not working because of my son distance learning, we barely go anywhere anyways so it’s not been an issue. I’ll consider turning her whenever it makes sense past age two.

Yes, in my husbands truck since the seats don’t go back and he looks like he’s in a V if we don’t. I’m holding out in my car till he’s 2 since I can recline my second row back .

We’re rear facing until at least 2. We live in NY so that’s the state law, but also proven to be a lot safer. Before it was the law we still rear faced our oldest until she was a little over 2. We’ll probably switch sometime during the summer before our 3rd is born in September!
