i used to work for an orthodontist office and we had to correct mistakes from places like this often. the issue is you have to take your own impressions, and since most people are not trained to do this, they often come out warped. this means that the company then sends you a messed up version of their aligners, your teeth move in ways they aren’t supposed to. also, going to a dentist/orthodontist means someone is checking to make sure your teeth don’t move to quickly, which can cause permanent bone loss in your roots (which in extreme cases can mean your teeth die and fall out prematurely). see if you can get your insurance to cover ortho!

I’ve heard mixed reviews, it can really mess up your teeth too. 
My niece got invisiline because her orthodontist charged the same price as smile direct. 
I did not wear my retainer when I was a teenager so I talked to my dentist about it. I met with an orthodontist. Since I didn’t need a lot of work, we went with a classic retainer. I had to wear all day and night for 2 weeks, then only at night. It fixed my teeth quickly and for a fraction of the price (about $500 with insurance, it would have been around $900 without I think 🤔). Ya it sucked for a few weeks but the price and results were worth it
