How much money did you save for ttc before you started trying?

We saved $20,000 because we didn’t know what treatments we would need and wanted to be able to pay for child care for the first year. But this was in addition to our emergency fund and other savings. Curious to know where others stand.

First pregnancy I was only 20 so $0 lol...Second pregnancy I was 32 and saved close too $40,000 because we had to do IVF and our insurance didn't cover it.We saved for about 5 yrs. I'm now pregnant with baby #3 , naturally (no ivf). We have plenty in savings to where we don't have to save and also I've just kept everything from my last pregnancy, which helps save alot of money.

We didn’t save anything. I went from working full time (40-50hrs a week) to being a stay at home mom. Never had any issues with money or being able to afford anything.

We didn’t have a large amount of money saved but we both had decent jobs, our own place, and means to financially support ourselves and a baby

I have endo. We didn’t save but didn’t need to. We had money sitting in savings and I had good insurance. I needed a lap and it was almost fully covered except for the deductible. I had to take Clomid, Femara, and Provera all at certain points and it hardly cost us anything. Anything past my surgery, we were not wanting to do so if it got to IUI we would adopt instead. My cousins are missionaries in Honduras at an orphanage...we had enough in savings to cover the cost. Family had already offered to babysit. Quite honestly, when not paying child care, babies are only as expensive as you want them to be...unless there are medical issues but even then I have really good insurance.

For the first kiddo we had $10,000. For the second we’ve been setting aside the daycare cost for 2 kids since we started so it’s around $15,000 now and hope for much higher by the time medical bills, daycare costs, etc are needed.

We lived off of my husbands wage for a year before ttc and put my whole wage away. So we knew that we could live off of 1 wage and could afford anything we may have needed

We had money saved, but had not done it because we wanted to TTC. We were glad to have it though, we went through most of it during my maternity leave.
