Why do people on here say “you can get pregnant any day of the month” when you literally only ovulate 1 day and are “fertile” for 6 days if even 😒😒

I ovulated on cd 31, I never would have thought I could get pregnant that late in my cycle, but here I am.

Cycles can change sometimes when you don’t expect it to. Lots of people do not know exactly the day they ovulate so sometimes their guesses are off. But I agree it’s a bit misleading and I wish we educated people on how to exactly track your cycles to narrow it down to a few days. I wish everyone took ovulation tests. It’d probably help with accidental pregnancies.

Maybe, because of unknown ovulation day. A lot of people just asume that apps are corect and miss the O day. So if you don't know it, then in my opinion you can get preg any day, and should BD every other day for a whole cycle if you are ttc

Sperm can last up to 5 days inside you, so that widens the window significantly. Also our bodies could ovulate earlier or later than predicted. There are many factors and cycle tracking isn’t 100%. 
There was also a Canadian study that found that women could potentially ovulate more than once in a cycle. I didn’t dig into the data or see what kind of peer review it went through so I cannot attest to the findings, but it does poke holes in the long held belief that we only ovulate once per cycle. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1126506/
