Well. I love my sister. I love my best friend. I love my coworkers. But I am in love with my fiancé. I will only ever be in love with one person. I can love many many people. I’d say loving someone isn’t as intimate as being in love with someone but that doesn’t mean it’s less of a love

I’ve always seen love and in love as different things. When dating my current boyfriend I’ve told him I love him first and same with in love and he was confused af. I explained to him my definition of it which is along the lines of you can love anyone (friends,family,pets) but being in love with someone is giving all of your heart to them and god forbid anything was to ever happen the feelings wouldn’t go away or fade because with all your being your heart belongs to them

Your brain reacts to love like a drug. Which means as time progresses your body acclimates to that drug and it no longer gets you high. The love is still there you just can't OD on it.
