8 week ultrasound

I had my 8 week ultrasound today and I’m 8+1 but the doctor didn’t measure the heart rate which seemed weird to me? I had a scan at 6+4 too and he didn’t measure it then. I assumed maybe it was too early but I did get to see it so I thought for sure I’d hear it this time but nope. I got to see it today too so I know it’s beating and I saw baby squirm around a little! But it just seemed odd to not hear how fast it was beating? Anybody else experience this?
