So my and my SO hve been together for three years and have been rocky for most of it. We share two children together and he’s raising my other two from a pervious relationship. He doesn’t really do surprises for me. Doesn’t get me anything on my birthday or christmas.. it makes me really sad because I like to go out of my way to get him things he likes even when I don’t have the money to do so I always find a way to show him I love him. So this Valentine’s Day I was going to do something nice for him but I’m starting to second guess doing anything at all when I know I’m not getting anything in return. It doesn’t even have to be materialistic. It could be a kind gesture. I just know for a fact he had nothing planned. So should I just say fuck it and not do anything? I need opinions.
