hi all. recently i realized my three year old hadn’t made a bowel movement in almost 6 days. i texted my parents and my in laws to ask their advice because i really had no idea what to do. her poops have always been hard and hard for her to push out. so my mom told me she has to poop or she’ll get impacted. now dr. google has me freaking out because i didn’t really know what impaction was. i sent my fiancé to get a kids laxative that’s safe for 2-11 years old. i only gave her one and at about 20-25 minutes later she pooped. it was a hard ball followed by runny poop. now today is the day after and she’s caught a stomach bug and has diarrhea. i’m just confused. i read that impaction can happen and “diarrhea can leak out around the impacted stool.” so basically my question is, if she’s have lots of runny diarrhea is it safe to say the hard stool is gone and now it’s just the stomach virus that she has cleaning her out. it’s been well over 24 hours since i gave her the laxative so i would assume it’s out of her system. thanks in advance :)
