How long did it take y’all to recover from vaginal birth?

FTM just gave birth to an adorable 7lbs 3oz boy. Had a 1st degree tear. Everything down there feels heavy and huge when I stand and it’s very uncomfortable. How long did it take for that heaviness and swelling to go down?

Depends what recovery you're talking about. There was a time it didn't hurt to sneeze? There was a time my insides finally travelled back to to where they were meant to be. There was a time where I was cleared to exercise and my tummy muscles didn't hurt when I did crunches.

With my first, it took about 2 weeks. My midwife does a 2 week pp check-up and I felt fine by then. With my second it took a little longer, maybe 4 or 5. Had a 1 stitch(2nd degree) tear with both, and my second was nearly 2 lbs lighter than my first so not sure why recovery was harder

I didn’t tear so maybe two weeks not even. Just felt sore. We will see this time around.

i had a second degree tear and my daughter was 7lb 13oz 20.5 in. i wasn’t 100% obviously but i did feel a whole lot better after about 5-7 days. just take it as easy as possible and don’t stress yourself to do too much. you will heal and feel a bit better if you rest the first few days.. hope u start to feel better soon❤️

With a tear and all the swelling I honestly didn’t feel back to normal until about 10 weeks

With my first I tore pretty bad so maybe 6-7 weeks until I felt normal. With my second I didn’t tear so I felt good at 2 weeks postpartum.

With my first baby I felt the same way felt very uncomfortable and swollen it hurt to sit and even stand sometimes and kind of felt like pressure down there it also hurt to walk sometimes. I used a lot of ice packs which helped a ton and witch hazel pads were literally my best friend! You can ask your nurse if they have some in the hospital that they can give you but It really didn’t start going away until maybe a few days after I got discharged out of the hospital.
