Vbac for second?

Has anyone talked to their doctors about a vbac yet? I’m torn on what we should plan/aspire to do. I was induced at 38 weeks for IUGR and failed to progress around 5.5 cm and Baby’s heart rate was starting to drop so we went in for an emergent csection. Obviously my doctor is going to have a lot of input on what we do but I’m curious to know what you ladies are planning.

We are planning for my 3rd VBAC. My 1st baby was an unplanned c-section. For our second, we went to 5 different doctors before we found one that said they would let me try for a VBAC (the OB had just had her second baby via VBAC as well, so she was an advocate for at least letting me try), as the others could not provide a medical reason that I was unable to at least try for a VBAC, other than they wanted to automatically do a c-section due to me having a previous c-section. One doctor even told us the reason why he did not want to let me try for a VBAC was because he didn’t want to have to cancel all of his appointments waiting for me to deliver because he has to be on site when someone with a previous C-section is laboring.￼ Although there’s always a risk for uterine tear, I was far outside of the 18 month range for it being a high risk, and I was healthy.￼￼ I had a successful VBAC for our second, and a successful VBAC for our 3rd baby. We are planning for a 3rd VBAC for this baby.

I had to push for my first VBAC, which was successful even with an epidural. 3.5 years later I had my 2nd successful all natural VBAC. I plan on having another all natural VBAC this time too. If you want it, you fight for it!

This is my 3rd pregnancy and my 2 babies 10/13, 04/19 were c-sections. I live in a rural city in the South and the closest hospital even equipped to do vbacs are 3+ hours away. So my ob while not against it, just medically can't.  And I was so bummed with my second about not being able to even try. But I will say this, my second c-section was far more amazing than my first, healing and all! I was back to normal in a week. I thought it would be, you know, way worse than a first one, which took me around 2 1/2weeks to be normal. So I'm not as scared to have a repeat this time. Although I do wish it were medically available to at least try.

Try not to compare an induction to what a vbac might be, it’s not a “natural” way to start labour and may not have progressed if baby wasn’t ready

I’ve asked for a VBAC. Apparently I’m having someone call me between 26-34 weeks to give me more information. With DD I had to have an emergency C Section as we almost lost her. I never imagined in a million years I would have a C section as I had the picture perfect pregnancy all the way along. I know there’s a chance I may have to go for another C Section but I’d like to try for a vaginal birth.

I had a csection for my 1st daughter, and I had a successful Vbac for my second. I was even induced for my second and still had her vaginally. I would highly recommend trying. It was such an amazing experience.

I’m having a c-section again.  However, I don’t have a choice because I didn’t wait the 18 months to safely give a vaginal birth.  However, I would plan to do a repeat regardless.  I like to know the plan and have already experienced it, so I know to expect.

My OB won’t do VBAC....so I don’t have a choice. They say the risks are too high and I don’t have the energy to argue lol

I got induced with my first but ended up with an infection and a fever and her heart rate was crazy high so they did emergency c section. With my second my doctor said I could do a Vbac as long as my baby came by my due date. They wouldn’t induce with a Vbac. Turns out I don’t dilate on my own and my kids don’t ever want to come out so I ended up with a c section again.

My ob said I would need to have a csection again for my next at my last pp visit. Which I'm actually happy about because my labor was extremely traumatic and I just want to get through it. Lol
