Who had a glass of wine pregnant ?

I’m 21 weeks with baby #2. I am CRAVING wine this pregnancy. All my elders are like “oh have the glass of wine you will be fine”. My generation including my husband is so against it pregnant. HELP:(

I have a 4oz glass of red wine once a month. And I drink a cup of coffee daily. And I eat cold deli meat....This is my second pregnancy, with my first I followed every rule to a T and she was almost too big to come out and colicky for 4 months. I figured maybe this time if I’m not so high strung about everything the the baby will be a little more relaxed haha.

Iv had the occasional very small wine. Just do what you feel comfortable with.

This is my 5th pregnancy and I haven’t had wine any of my pregnancies. I honestly just don’t feel it’s worth the risk. They do make alcohol free wine.

Get some non-alcoholic wine. I've been addicted to beer this pregnancy but got some non-alcoholic beer...I would never drink alcohol while pregnant. Not worth the risk!!

If it’s a good quality red or white wine I don’t see an issue with it. It’s a natural blood thinner and that’s helpful for preventing blood clots as well. Ultimately you do you. I wouldn’t have a glass every week probably, but like once a month I don’t see an issue. Like 4 oz or so....my midwife told my husband and I at our first apt that if I’m craving pizza and beer my husband needs to take me out for pizza and beer lol! I don’t like pizza or beer but i think she was making a point that if I have a craving, go for it. 
I also think there are medications and chemicals out there that are WAY worse for you than a glass of wine.

I recommend reading Expecting Better. The author goes through all the research done on fetal alcohol exposure. I’ve had a couple small glasses of champagne during this pregnancy but don’t really care for it like I used to, so switched to alcohol-free. Whatever decision you make, make it with all the research and information you can get your hands on.

It would be unethical to research on unborn babies how much alcohol it takes before they get FASD so that is why health says no amount is safe because we actually do not know if any alcohol is safe. No alcohol for me either but I have been drinking alcohol free bubbles so I don’t feel left out!
