I am friends with my ex. My husband is also friends with my ex. He treated me very well and I loved him a lot, but we just wanted different futures. I even still message his parents haha

i dated a guy for a short period of time and he’s my best friend. i think that’s why it didn’t work out. i have another ex and she and i are friendly but not friends. i dislike her but 🤷🏽‍♀️ have to keep the convo light ya know

Women stay friends with their ex because they want him in their life, even if he doesnt want to be together. That, and they want to know what the ex is up to after they break up. Men...men stay friends with their ex because of the possibility of sex. Its a no for me.

I consider friend someone that is part of my life, someone I see from time to time, make plans, tell my stories, project, love, hope, secret, someone I would want to introduce to a new partner and be honest abt who that person is.
That is what I call a friend.
So based on that definition, ex can not be my friend because I know I will not open on some topic.  Either out of respect or just because it is awkward. I also don't what to know about their sex life or don't want to advise on what gift to give his new girl or house they want to buy...
Not being friend with an ex doesn't mean we are enemies.
If I see ex on the street I will stop say hi, ask how are things but that is it. 
So ex is not a friend. Ex is someone that I know, someone I had history with, someone I shared a part of my growth, part of my life experiences. That's it.
And I am ok with quite a few exes but we are not friends. Friends will not be a word I will use to describe them.

Depends why things ended. If he was abusive, hell no, if things ended amicably, maybe, but I hang out with them on the regular, now because especially if he still have feelings for them that’s gonna be hard, and seeing them move on or rubbing it in your face that they have somebody else, it would be too hard. Sometimes staying friends with an ex, is like someone who kidnapped you saying, keep in touch, no thanks

I’ve been friends with pretty much all my ex’s except one that decided he hated me after he broke up with me over text 😂 but they were all great people before we dated, and things just didn’t work out 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m not close to any of them now just because a lot of time has passed and we’ve drifted apart
