So I just picked up a Rx for famotidine (pepcid) and the person helping me asked if I was pregnant and then how far along I was. When she brought the meds over she said, "I know your OB wrote the Rx but this is technically an allergy medication and while it does help with heartburn/reflux if you take a lot of it it can cause allergies in your baby" and basically told me not to take it more than I need (duh).

Has anyone heard of this before? This is my second time picking it up and noone mentioned anything the first time I filled it. Idk if I saw the pharmacist or a pharmacy tech but I'm just curious if this is a common knowledge type thing or if whoever helped me today read some obscure med article and thought to share it. I have an appointment on Wednesday so I'll ask my OB then but just wondering if anyone has been told this before as well.
