Recurring BV
I had recurring BV for as long as I can remember. I usually get it after sex or during or after my period, I was going to the gyn but I would get the medication and then I’d get a yeast infection and then it turned into a vicious cycle. After trying to get help by I gyn I took things into my own hands and started researching as much as possible. It turns out when you get the medication for BV it tends to kill off the bad bacteria but also the good bacteria the vaginal needs to flourish. When the vaginas PH goes out of wack you can either get BV (bacterial vaginitis) or a yeast Infection. So as I was taking the medication which was a gel for the BV it would go away and then about a day later I would get a yeast infection and then it would go back to BV, I felt absolutely hopeless and I felt like nothing was going to help. So I had found a couple home remedies that I didn’t want to try because they were to messy & I stumbled upon something called BoricAcid Suppositories called BoriCaps (Available on amazon for $13) I ordered because I had nothing else to lose & let me just say I have never gone back to a gyn! The boric acid is pharmaceutical grade and is harmless to the vagina, I asked a gyn if it was safe and they assured me it was and if it wasn’t hurting, burning or itching as well as having no bad side effects he said I could continue using a them. I use them 2x a week to prevent. Sometime I forget or just get tired of using them and all I have to do is insert a suppository and I’m fine later on in the day. I also use probiotics! Yes the mix of the suppositories and the probiotics have completely eliminated BV from my life! Any woman’s probiotic is fine! I was so embarrassed because if you don’t know BV gives off a horrible Strong fishy odor which could make your quite self conscious. I would recommend this to anyone who is suffering from recurring BV. Bv can be caused by many things, from your diet, which I would suggest eating cleaner and healthier which helps tremendously, to wearing cotton panties because anything else will just keep the moisture level up causing bacteria to grow, having multiple sex partners, having unprotected sex and having some ejaculate inside you, the remaining sperm inside the vagina can cause a ph imbalance, to many more reasons that can be looked up online or by asking you Gyn!! I have also heard about these things called Yoni pearls, I have not tried them myself but I heard they work on some ppl I guess it just depends on the person, but like I said the Suppositories I use have never failed me and they ALWAYS WORK! Try them for yourself and let me know if the worked for you!! BV is not a Std for anyone that was wondering. If you have any further questions I will gladly answer or you can ask your Gyn, as well as researching yourself! I hope this truly helps anyone going through this, YOU ARE NOT ALONE, Many woman go through this and some feel ashamed and embarrassed but there’s no need, it is something absolutely normal that can be managed as I have managed it!
