Sometimes I think people, and me, sort of pretends to believe in something absurd or irrational, for fun or comfort.

Things like this would be: the tooth fairy, manifestation or "the secret", demons, santa, mirrors having energy, Bigfoot, aliens talking to the president, telepathy, psychics, astrology and then general magical thinking.

I think people like thinking about simulation, the multiverse & string theory for similar reasons- although these have math to lead us towards reasonable theory- a majority of people don't understand the math anyway, and a theory isn't a law.

I think people like magic and whimsy- and only some of thus coincides with a possible future reality (like machine assisted telepathy or robots doing all the work.)

Ok so if anyone still knows what I'm talking about... thoughts? Do people, or you, believe in things for fun?

I have "believed" in astrology for fun, but I don't actually believe it's legit.
