Baby cereal, Rice?

Hi everyone, so my son pediatrician gave us the okay to start introducing some foods. Anyone started? If so what did you start with? My son will be 4 months on the 19th but he was 2 weeks early. Is it too early? Ugh idk I’m a FTM and I’m just undecided if I should start or just wait.

There’s no nutritional value in rice cereal so we skipped it. Our doc also gave us the okay at 4 months but my girls weren’t ready at all so we waited until 6 and started with oatmeal. I actually don’t know anyone that actually started with rice. I’m shocked they still recommended it.

Yes 4m is too early. Your dr is giving out dated advice. Drs practice medicine not nutrition therefore give false information regarding nutrition unless they are up to date with current information. Drs aren’t nutritionists. 
Also cereals are not healthy and 0 nutritional value. Rice cereal especially. More reasons are below. 
Also all ready signs must be met before starting solids which means being 6m old. Other signs are listed below.

It’s recommended to wait until 6 months. Especially if your baby still displays the tongue thrust reflex and cannot sit unassisted.

Our ped gave the go ahead at 4 months but I could tell my daughter wasn’t ready. She was barely ready at 6 months so we took it really slow. Now at 9 months this girl can eat

We were given green light at 4m for my son, we started with baby cereal, multigrain. He however he was not ready, so he only really tried it but didn’t officially start early purées and such until about 6 months or so. Just go with your instinct. Your the mother, you know what’s best for you child.

We did baby oat cereal and mixed it with breast milk. Baby loved it and was a pro from the beginning
