How far along am I??

This is something that seems so simple and easy to figure out, but I think my pregnancy brain is at full force🤪. Plus, I’m sure this is a question that gets ask quite often. I’m curious if anyone can explain why one pregnancy app states I’m 5w and 5 days pregnant (LMP 1/07/2021), and the other one is saying I am 6w going on 7w?

It depends how long your cycle is as the average is 28 days so most apps default to that but I notice on some calculators when I change it to 26 or whatever is brings the due date forward by two days so it assumes you ovulated two days earlier than someone with 28 days cycle for example! Hope this helps!

The calculators need to know 2 things.. the first day of your last period.. and the number of days in your cycle. Some calculators just assume your cycle is 28 days (because it’s average), that’s why you’re getting different numbers. If your period is the same every month, find a calculator that requires you to input the cycle length. It will then give an accurate due date.

You’re not the only one! I have 3 apps (only because they all have different features) and all vary by a good few days. 
I’ll be going for an early scan on Saturday so hopefully will be able to get an accurate date then 🙂
