Advice please!
Hi guys, I am posting this anonymously because I don't know what to do and I want to be as respectful as I can. So today my daughter was listening to music on her tablet. She has a children's tablet from Amazon (the ones that come in the foam case and is loaded with all young children content). She brought her headphones to me to listen to the song that was on and the song playing was saying and I quote "let your body speak to me, I know how to make you happy, let me touch your body." It was on the iheartradio Family app. Emphasis on FAMILY. So here is where it gets tricky. The station was the Black History Month Celebration station. It doesn't list the song or the artist it just shows the station they are listening too. Under no circumstances does my concern have anything to do with this particular song being on the Black History Celebration station. This could have been on any station and I would be upset. It's sexual music on a children's app. However I am afraid to reach out to them because I don't want to sound like a racist Karen (no offense if your name is Karen, you know what I mean). But at the same time I feel like children don't need to have this kind of music on their family/children's apps. My daughter is only 4 and it just made me really uncomfortable. And no hate to parents who let their kids listen to music like that I just don't really want my little one hearing it especially since I'm not alway monitoring it because it was on the family station. Anyway how do I reach out to them without making it seem like I'm disrespectful of culture. The other music on that station is wonderful its just this song was so inappropriate.
